“Esqueiters” is the phonetic approach to the word skaters and refers us to the titles of some classic works: The Persians, The Supplicants, The Trojans … The Esqueiters. All of them with the characteristic features of the Greek tragedy: the presentation of a universal conflict and its acceptance through a catharsis.
This tragedy is born of the will to reach an almost impossible state: to be or to feel free. It all begins with the meeting of two groups that pursue this common goal. Some skaters, perpetual travellers who redefine the urban environment and trust in the force of movement to free themselves and some Renaissance thinkers, enlightened minds who trust in the force of ideas to conquer freedom.
The piece, as has been the process, is an exercise of exchange, of approximation between the instinctive and the rational, the ephemeral and the eternal, the contemporary and the classic.
